Learning continues even after the school day ends. Our auxiliary programs provide our Lower and Middle School students the opportunities to continue that learning in subject areas they love. We have programs in sports, music, academics and so much more.

Sunday Night Lights (4th-7th grade): Get ready for high-energy football fun under the lights! Sunday Night Lights is a boys flag football program led by Porter Gaud's head football coach, Matt Neighbors. Players will develop skills, boost confidence, and compete in a supportive, fast-paced environment. Whether your athlete is new to the game or already loves football, this program offers the perfect mix of drills, teamwork, and exciting gameplay to end the weekend strong. price: $200 |

Art Time Travelers (1st-3rd): 3:30pm - 4:45 pm Journey through time as we explore famous art movements from around the world! Each week, students will discover the stories behind unique styles—like Impressionism, Pop Art, and more—then create their own masterpieces inspired by each era. Every session is hands-on, creative, and packed with fun projects to take home. Unlock your imagination and become an ArtTime Traveler! price: $225
3:00pm - 4:15 pm "Turning ‘I Don’t Know What to Write’ into ‘Wait, This is Fun!’" Is your child looking for adventure through words? Get ready for The Scribble Squad! This new and exciting writing program is conducted by local children's author, Elizabeth Lynn and one of Porter Gaud's substitute teachers. Each week children willI craft different genres of writing with fun, structured instruction such as descriptive and persuasive pieces, poetry, mysteries, space, design a commercial, writing through art, go on a writing scavenger hunt and so much more! Using a variety of fun, educational resources and tools the program seeks to encourage kids to express themselves through the power of words, increase vocabulary, boost their writing skills and confidence, power their brain and have fun! price: $200 Kevin Jackson Soccer (1st-4th grade): 3:00pm - 4:15 pm Jackson Soccer Development is bringing a fresh perspective to the game of soccer. Each uniquely designed session consists of group and individual skills, technical training, and overall physical development. A heavy emphasis is placed on team building, character development, sportsmanship, and a sense of fair play. Coach Kevin creates an environment where players reach their full potential through physical training and skill development while achieving self-confidence and positive self-esteem, both on and off the field. The elite sport of fencing incorporates agility, strength, coordination, balance, and timing. In this beginners fencing course, students will increase physical ability and gain a strong mental edge. The competitors of a fencing match wear protective gear and handle swords which will be fully provided for students to use each session. This program is focused on skill development, teaching the fundamentals of girls lacrosse in a fun and encouraging environment. Perfect for those trying to learn a new sport, or current players looking to take their skills to the next level! price: $200 WePickle (3rd-6th grade): 3:15pm - 4:30 pm Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Its adaptability makes it an ideal choice for individuals of diverse abilities and ages. This rapid growing sport has transcended traditional boundaries and has become a symbol of inclusivity and community. The objective of WePickle is to introduce and promote the sport by providing an intro to pickleball class at Porter-Gaud School. The class aims to provide students with a structured recreational activity that promotes physical fitness, social interaction, teamwork, and skill development. WePickle aims to create a positive and inclusive experience for everyone. By offering this class, we have the opportunity to enhance the overall well-being and enjoyment of the students while fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. Benefits: 1. (1st-2nd grade): 3:00pm - 4:15 pm Tennis is a life long sport that should begin at a young age. Tennis Anyone is designed to introduce the game of tennis in a format that is fun, exciting and educational. Students will focus on developing their balance, agility, awareness and of course their tennis technique. Coach Brown will provide the students with an hour of multiple games and drills. This is the best course for those that would like to have an introduction to Tennis that will leave them wanting more! The instructor is Cameron Brown, our very own Lower School PE Instructor, Cross-Country Coach, Sailing Coach and Tennis Guru! price: $225
Storybook Art Club (1st-2nd grade): 3:00pm - 4:15 pm Do you love stories? Do you love to create? Then join the Storybook Art Club, where imagination jumps right off the page! Each week, we will explore a new, beloved picture book—from vibrant tales to silly stories we will read the book aloud, discuss the author's message, and investigate the unique art style on every page. Then, we'll dive into our own hands-on art project directly inspired by the story! Students will experiment with fun techniques like color mixing, simple construction, and creative problem-solving. This club is perfect for young readers and budding artists! We focus on having fun, building confidence, and seeing that art can be created anywhere, even from an "oops!" Edible Science with Ms. Dorito (1st-4th): 3:00pm - 4:15 pm Join Auxiliary’s fan-favorite, Ms. Dorito, for our "Edible Science" program! Students will explore the world's odd delicacies, rare foods and learn what not to eat! Through scientific experiments, students will finally be able to "play with their food". They will also create Edible Science through different recipe challenges to see who can make the most tasty treats. This creative and experimental program is perfect for your little scientist who loves all things food! *This may not be the best program for those with food allergies price: $225
Kids With Green Thumbs (1st-4th): 3:00pm - 4:15 pm Get ready to dig in! Kids With Green Thumb is a hands-on gardening class where students explore the full process of creating and caring for their own floral and vegetable gardens. Each week, students will roll up their sleeves and participate in activities such as working in the greenhouse, decorating pots, crafting ceramics for garden décor, arranging flowers, making compost, and even growing their own plants from seed.Students will also learn how to make homemade natural pesticides and discover the importance of sustainable farming, seasonal eating, and eco-friendly garden practices. From creative projects to scientific exploration, this class blends art, nature, and environmental learning in a fun and engaging way. It’s a wonderful chance for kids to get their hands dirty, learn something new, and watch their hard work bloom! price: $225
Youth Basketball (1st-4th): 3:00pm - 4:15 pm Come out and have some fun while learning the fundamental skills and techniques of Basketball! Head Varsity Coach and overall basketball guru John Pearson has a passion for teaching the skills and drills every little baller needs to succeed on the court and progress to the Varsity level. If your child is serious about learning fundamentals, becoming a better basketball player, building skills and connecting with the PG Varsity coaches then this is the program for you! Keep an eye out for current Varsity star players, as they will assist throughout the semester. price: $200
Minecraft Club (2nd-8th): 3:15pm - 4:30 pm Dive into the magical land of Minecraft where your students will become master builders! Together, they'll craft cool 3D worlds and show off their awesome designs. For those who are more advanced, there's even a chance to play around with Command Blocks and block coding found in the Minecraft Education Edition. How to play? Choose your style! Whether it's on a Windows PC using a keyboard & mouse, rocking an Xbox controller, or tapping away on a touchscreen tablet, the adventure is at your fingertips. At each club meeting, our fun-filled sessions include Minecraft building contests, where teams can dream up and design their very own worlds. But wait, there's more! We feature cool games like Star Wars Hide and Seek and the thrilling Bed Wars. (1st-4th): 3:00pm - 4:15 pm Unleash your creativity in this fun and engaging after-school program! Craft & Create with Ms. Penelope invites students to explore a variety of art and craft projects. Students will experiment with different materials, apply their own creative ideas, and make unique masterpieces to take home. This program is the perfect mix of imagination, self-expression, and playful learning in a supportive and welcoming environment. price: $225
Soccer Shots (1st-4th): 3:00pm - 4:15 pm Soccer Shots provides a high-quality, age-appropriate soccer program designed to inspire kids and build confidence. Our nationally recognized curriculum focuses on skill development, teamwork, and character-building — all taught by trained, background-checked coaches who LOVE working with children. (2nd-7th): 3:15pm - 4:30 pm Bloxels EDU is a super fun way to make your own video games, art, stories, and more without needing to learn computer code! This program is all about the design of games. With Bloxels, you stop just playing games and start becoming a confident digital creator! You'll get to practice being creative, working with others, solving problems, and sharing your ideas. Crafty Creations Crew (1st-2nd): 3:00pm - 4:15 pm The Crafty Creations Crew is designed specifically for 1st and 2nd grade students who love to make things! This club is where imagination comes to life. We focus on exciting, hands-on, and messy crafts that teach practical skills and produce amazing results! Students will experience a new material each week from glue, food coloring and paint to beads, tissue paper and maybe even SLIME! Join fan-favorite Ms. Boechel for eight weeks of Crafty, Creative, FUN! price: $225 Seha Karate (1st-3rd): 3:00pm - 4:15 pm Sensei Pettus is back! Sensei returns with this beginner Karate class, you will learn the basic fundamentals as well as self-defense techniques. The class will promote physical fitness and demonstrate respect for yourself and others. Bricks4Kidz (1st-5th): 3:15pm - 4:30 pm At Bricks 4 Kidz, we believe that learning is most effective when it’s enjoyable. Our programs are centered around the idea of “learning through play” and combine the timeless fun of LEGO® bricks with hands-on learning experiences. Our age-appropriate STEAM after-school enrichment programs are designed to inspire creativity, foster critical thinking, and provide a unique platform for students to explore various educational concepts in a fun and interactive way. Join us this session for "Architecture 101" as we travel around the world learning about different famous landmarks! Girls on The Move (1st-5th): 3:15pm - 4:30 pm Join Porter Gaud’s own Gretchen Tate and Ragan Wood for Girls on The Move, an exciting program for girls in grades 1–5 that introduces a variety of sports while fostering confidence, character, and compassion. Participants will explore sports such as basketball, volleyball, softball, track and field, golf, tennis, lacrosse, and soccer in a fun, structured, and supportive environment. Each session begins outside the cafeteria with a warm-up, followed by a short lesson, and concludes with a skill-building or exercise activity. Throughout the program, girls will make new friends, develop confidence, and celebrate what makes them unique—all while staying active across the PG campus. This is a perfect opportunity to gain a head start on girls’ sports as they progress into Middle School and prepare to play on their first Porter-Gaud team. price: $200

Take The Lead! Building Leadership Skills in Middle School (6th-8th): 3:15pm - 4:30 pm Take the Lead is designed specifically for students in grades 6-8! This engaging after-school program focuses on developing essential leadership skills through interactive activities, team-building exercises, and practical tools for navigating life in middle school as a leader of self. Participants will learn to listen and communicate effectively, build strategies for resolving conflict, collaborate with peers, and solve problems creatively. With mentorship and coaching from Coach Chris Tate, students will gain self-confidence and the tools they need to become their own empowered leader of the challenges young adults face today. This program is designed to prepare players for live competitive play, and is designed for those with prior lacrosse experience. Players will not only learn the fundamentals, but they will learn what it takes to be a successful team: offensive and defensive formations, proper subbing procedure's, the role of each position on the field, and more! price: $200 Intermediate Boys Lacrosse (3rd-4th grade): 3:00pm - 4:15 pm ***Full pads required: Helmet, gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads, stick and cleats Join Coach John McDonnell for this intermediate lacrosse program for 3rd and 4th graders.
