Learning continues even after the school day ends. Our auxiliary programs provide our Lower and Middle School students the opportunities to continue that learning in subject areas they love. We have programs in sports, music, academics and so much more.

Coach Evans' + Coach Joey's New Years Basketball Clinics: Ages 8-14, 10am-12pm. Session I on 12/30+12/31, Session II on 1/2+1/3 Ages 8-14, 10am-12pm on December 30th + 31st, and January 2nd+3rd. You may sign up for one or both sessions! Join Chris Evans, girls varsity basketball coach and renowned basketball trainer, and Joey Ferrelli, jv boys basketball coach and trainer, for their New Years basketball clinic! Our main focus will be on the fundamentals - shooting, dribbling, passing, defense and layups. We will begin each session with agility training, then we'll break into stations and drills, and finish it off with some live play. This clinic is an encouraging environment for all to learn at their own pace and to feel comfortable learning new skills. Coach Brown's Back to School Soccer Clinic: Grades 1-4, Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:00-4:30pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:30pm on January 7th, 9th, 14th, 16th, 21st and 23rd. Tuesdays and Thursdays the 3 weeks before Enrichment starts! Join Coach Brown for his back to school soccer clinic! Utilizing the Lower School's new turf field, Coach Brown will teach the fundamentals of soccer through fun games and drills. Open to anyone grades 1-4. |

LS Lacrosse: Grades 1-2, Mondays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Mondays starting Monday, 1/27 Join PG Varsity Lacrosse's new offensive coordinator, Coach John Austen, for our LS lax program! This program will teach the general knowledge and skills needed to play the high pace sport of Lacrosse. Through drills, games and competitive play, campers will learn about the FUNdamentals. This will include passing, shooting, ground balls, cradling, and defensive tactics. They will also learn about the key concepts and rules of lacrosse, like offsides, defensive formations, the rules of the crease, and much more. *Please try to bring your own sticks, we have some extra if needed. Don't miss your chance to get a jumpstart on this awesome sport! Ms. Dorito's Young Scientists: Grades 1-4, Mondays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Mondays starting Monday, 1/27 Join Ms. Dorito for her new program, Young Scientists! This STEAM focused program is designed for our LS students to use their hands and creative minds to bring their scientific ideas to life. Each week we will have a new fun and exciting experiment; from making volcanoes, homemade slime and cardboard robots, to human-sized bubbles and much more. Bring your imagination and your scientific thinking cap! WePickle: Grades 1-4, Mondays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Mondays starting Monday, 1/27 Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It’s adaptability makes it an ideal choice for individuals of diverse abilities and ages. This rapid growing sport has transcended traditional boundaries and has become a symbol of inclusivity and community. The objective of WePickle is to introduce and promote the sport by providing an intro to pickleball class at Porter-Gaud School. The class aims to provide students with a structured recreational activity that promotes physical fitness, social interaction, teamwork, and skill development. WePickle aims to create a positive and inclusive experience for everyone. By offering this class, we have the opportunity to enhance the overall well-being and enjoyment of the students while fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. Benefits: 1. Physical Fitness: Pickleball provides a low-impact aerobic workout that improves cardiovascular health, agility, and coordination. 2. Social Interaction: Participation in group activities fosters socialization skills, communication, and teamwork. 3. Skill Development: Learning and mastering pickleball techniques can boost self-esteem, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment. LS Fencing: Grades 1-4, Mondays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Mondays starting Monday, 1/27 Porter-Gaud is thrilled to present the opportunity for your child to learn the art of fencing by fencing professionals! The elite sport of fencing incorporates agility, strength, coordination, balance, and timing. In this beginners fencing course, students will increase physical ability and gain a strong mental edge. The competitors of a fencing match wear protective gear and handle swords which will be fully provided for students to use each session. For more information about fencing check out edgeofamericafencing.com Sewing 101: Grades 2-4, Mondays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 2-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Mondays starting Monday, 1/27 After school sewing is geared toward beginners. Students will learn foundational skills of sewing, such as the running stitch, blanket stitch and whip stitch. Students will make their own Emoji pillows! Each student will be given a sewing kit with materials needed to complete their projects as well as materials they will use again and again such as pins, needles and measuring tape. The kit will be theirs to take home at the end of the class. Flight School: Planes, Drones and Flying Objects: Grades 3-6, Mondays 3:15-4:30pm Grades 3-6, 3:15-4:30pm on Mondays starting Monday, 1/27 Was that a Bird, Plane, Drone, or something else that flies? It’s all about things that fly in this high-flying camp! Get an introduction to physics, aerodynamics, force, and motion when we build and test different types of things that fly including planes, rockets, and helicopters. Test your skill as you learn to operate a STUNT DRONE. Are you up for all the engineering challenges ahead? |

Escape Room w/ Ms. Boechel: Grades 1-4, Tuesdays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Tuesdays starting Tuesday, 1/28 Unleash your child's creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork in Ms. Boechel's new exciting program! This program combines fun and learning through immersive, story-driven challenges. Each week, children will dive into themed escape room adventures, from ancient treasure hunts to futuristic space missions. Students will work together to solve puzzles, crack codes, and unlock mysteries while developing critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills. Along the way, they'll learn about topics like logic, math, history, and even basic science principles—all woven into the adventure. Whether they're deciphering secret messages, piecing together hidden clues, or racing against the clock, every session promises an unforgettable journey of discovery. Our program fosters confidence, teamwork, and a love for problem-solving in a safe, supportive, and highly engaging environment! Ms. Dorito's Edible Science: Grades 1-4, Tuesdays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Tuesdays starting Tuesday, 1/28 You never know what you could come across in the wild.. is it poisonous? Or delicious? Or both! Join Auxiliary’s fan-favorite, 'Ms. Dorito' for our "Edible Science" program! Students will explore the world's odd delicacies, rare foods and learn what not to eat! Through scientific experiments, students will finally be able to "play with their food". They will also create Edible Science through different recipe challenges to see who can make the most tasty treats. This creative and experimental program is perfect for your little scientist who loves all things food! *This may not be the best program for those with food allergies Girls Got Game: Grades 1-4, Tuesdays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Tuesdays starting Tuesday, 1/28 Join Porter-Gaud's own Gretchen Tate and Ragan Wood for this introduction into girls sports! In this program, girls will dive into several of the following sports while competing in a fun and structured environment: Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, Track and Field, Golf, Tennis, Lacrosse and Soccer. Gretchen and Ragan have a wide range of knowledge for these sports from playing and being MS and Varsity Coaches here at PG. This is a great opportunity to get a head start on girls sports as they progress into Middle School and can play on their first Porter-Gaud team. Next Level Athlete w/ FAST Coach Brian: Grades 1-4, Tuesdays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Tuesdays starting Tuesday, 1/28 Join Elite Speed and Performance Coach Brian from FAST Athletic Performance for The Next Level Athlete Program: The second Installment to learn how to train like an athlete. This Fundamental Sports Training Program is action packed and focused on athletic development! Designed for 7-11 year-olds, this six-session program is all about introducing, re-introducing and honing in on fundamental sport skills through a range of drills and movements. This will develop strength, speed, coordination, kinesthetic awareness and overall better health. This program will ignite a lifelong passion for sports, encourage physical fitness, and nurture teamwork and sportsmanship in every participant. Next Level Athlete is the perfect opportunity for young athletes to increase their potential and lay the groundwork for future success no matter what sport they desire to be in. Minecraft Club: Grades 2-6, Tuesdays 3:15-4:30pm Grades 2-6, 3:15-4:30pm on Tuesdays starting Tuesday, 1/28 Dive into the magical land of Minecraft where your students will become master builders! Together, they'll craft cool 3D worlds and show off their awesome designs. For those who are more advanced, there's even a chance to play around with Command Blocks and block coding found in the Minecraft Education Edition. How to play? Choose your style! Whether it's on a Windows PC using a keyboard & mouse, rocking an Xbox controller, or tapping away on a touchscreen tablet, the adventure is at your fingertips. At each club meeting, our fun-filled sessions include Minecraft building contests, where teams can dream up and design their very own worlds. But wait, there's more! We feature cool games like Star Wars Hide and Seek and the thrilling Bed Wars. Join us, and not only will you have a blast, but you'll also learn awesome skills like teaming up, thinking creatively, and problem-solving. Ready to build, play, and learn? Let's go! Tennis 101: Grades 3-4, Tuesdays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 3-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Tuesdays starting Tuesday, 1/28 Tennis 101 is an advanced-beginner course designed for players that would like to advance their skills and technique. Instruction will center around the preparation, balance and commitment that it takes to be an efficient tennis player. Students will learn to develop their overall tennis game. This course will be for those that will stay focused and have already developed a tennis game at the beginner level. If you have a child enroll for this program that does not meet the ability level they will be asked to move to the "Tennis Anyone" program on Thursdays. If that class is full the student will be refunded. Thank you! Girls Intermediate Lacrosse: Grades 4-6, Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:15-4:30pm Grades 4-6, 3:15-4:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Tuesday, 2/4 The Intermediate Girls Lacrosse Enrichment is open to 4th-6th grade girls with significant lacrosse experience. This program is focused on preparing skilled girls for competitive play and live games. Under the guidance of PG parent and lacrosse enthusiast, Emily Johnson, participants will benefit from rigorous practice, training sessions and strategic play coaching. This enrichment program provides a fantastic opportunity for young female athletes to enhance their lacrosse abilities and experience through the thrill of competitive play in a supportive and structured setting. 18 total sessions on 2/4, 2/6, 2/11, 2/13, 2/18, 2/20, 2/25, 2/27, 3/4, 3/6, 3/11, 3/13, 3/18, 3/20, 3/25, 3/27, 4/8, 4/10, 4/15, 4/17 ***we will still have a session from 3:15-4:30pm on 2/18 even though it's Winter Break |

Generation Pound: Grades 1-4, Wednesdays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Wednesdays starting Wednesday, 1/29 Generation POUND® is a youth-oriented program that fuses movement and music to improve physical fitness, focus, communication, teamwork, coordination, athletic skill and more! Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted exercise drumsticks, kids will learn alternative ways to explore movement, embrace their creativity and ROCK OUT—ultimately building strength, confidence, and self-awareness. Ms. Dorito's Little Sprouts Gardening: Grades 1-4, Wednesdays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Wednesdays starting Wednesday, 1/29 In this hands-on gardening program, our young gardeners will learn how to grow, care for and enjoy planting while exploring the wonders of nature! Each week, Ms Dorito will lead fun activities like learning how to plant seeds and how to tend vegetables and flowers, while learning all of the science behind plants and how they grow, how to care for them, understanding the importance of pollinators, and more. Students will grow their own plants and create fun DIY projects, like making bird feeders, garden gnomes, fairy gardens and more! LS Basketball: Grades 1-4, Wednesdays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Wednesdays starting Wednesday, 1/29 Come out and have some fun while learning the fundamental skills and techniques of Basketball! Head Varsity Coach and overall basketball guru John Pearson has a passion for teaching the skills and drills every little baller needs to succeed on the court and progress to the Varsity level. If your child is serious about learning fundamentals, becoming a better basketball player, building skills and connecting with the PG Varsity coaches then this is the program for you! Keep an eye out for current Varsity star players, as they will assist throughout the semester. Artful Antics: Grades 2-4, Wednesdays 3:15-4:30pm Grades 2-4, 3:15-4:30pm on Wednesdays starting Wednesday, 1/29 US Art Teacher Janet Preslar is calling all artists and imagineers! Make fantastical and whimsical art using the power of your imagination and unexpected art materials. Campers will engage in a variety of hands-on art activities, while developing their creative process. Come join us! Chess Club: Grades 2-6, Wednesdays 3:15-4:30pm Grades 2-6, 3:15-4:30pm on Wednesdays starting Wednesday, 1/29 Chess Club is back! After a long hiatus, the Auxiliary Department is excited to bring Chess Club back after-school. Come learn the "Game of Kings" and develop focus, forethought, and problem solving. Mr. Joe, new Extended Day employee, is hosting this program after holding a chess club at Kaleidoscope the past few years. Mr Joe will facilitate a Chess Club that will place similar level and ability players against each other for some fun competition and instruction. No matter your skill level, you will have fun playing each week. Invest in your future, and join us learning a beneficial hobby you can enjoy for the rest of your life! Tennis Anyone: Grades 1-2, Thursdays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-2, 3:00-4:15pm on Thursdays starting Thursday, 1/30 Tennis is a life long sport that should begin at a young age. Tennis Anyone is designed to introduce the game of tennis in a format that is fun, exciting and educational. Students will focus on developing their balance, agility, awareness and of course their tennis technique. Coach Brown will provide the students with an hour of multiple games and drills. This is the best course for those that would like to have an introduction to Tennis that will leave them wanting more! Instructor is Cameron Brown, our very own Lower School PE Instructor, Cross-Country Coach, Sailing Coach and Tennis Guru! Girls Lacrosse: Grades 1-3, Thursdays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-3, 3:00-4:15pm on Thursdays starting Thursday, 1/30 Join us for this fun girls lacrosse program! This program is focused on skill development, teaching the fundamentals of girls lacrosse in a fun and encouraging environment. Perfect for those trying to learn a new sport, or current players looking to take their skills to the next level! At the end of the 8 sessions, we will have a 2-day a week option available for those who'd like to continue! Seha Karate: Grades 1-4, Thursdays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Thursdays starting Thursday, 1/30 *All belt levels are welcome Sensei Pettus is back! Sensei returns with this beginner Karate class, you will learn the basic fundamentals as well as self-defense techniques. The class will promote physical fitness and demonstrate respect for yourself and others. You will learn to practice self-control and you will have the opportunity to earn traditional belt advancement. Belt and Key Chain all provided! Come join us! Girls Run the World: Grades 1-4, Thursdays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 1-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Thursdays starting Thursday, 1/30 Gretchen Tate and Ragan Wood return for another chapter of Girls Run the World! This program is designed for grades 1-4 in the Lower School with a focus on developing confidence, character and compassion, all while being active throughout the PG campus. Girls will meet each day outside the cafeteria and begin with a warm-up, a short lesson and conclude with an exercise activity. Girls Run the World is more than just running. Coming off their state-championship run, Coach Bowles is looking to continue building the culture of his program to our LS students. This program will focus on the fundamentals of the game while including live play. StopMotion Movie Making: Grades 2-4, Thursdays 3:00-4:15pm Grades 2-4, 3:00-4:15pm on Thursdays starting Thursday, 1/30 Calling all future filmmakers! Join Joanne Benson for our new movie making camp! Students will learn and practice the art of stop motion film making by creating their own short films. We will be using LEGOs, iMovie, green screens and media editing apps to create a short film. Students will be writing, editing and producing their own stop animation film. Students will be given their own iPads for the week and can work individually on their films. *iPads will be provided Intermediate Girls Lacrosse: Grades 4-6, Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:15-4:30pm Grades 4-6, 3:15-4:30pm on Tuesdays+Thursdays starting Tuesday, 1/28 The Intermediate Girls Lacrosse Enrichment is open to 4th-6th grade girls with significant lacrosse experience. While not a formal team, this program is focused on preparing skilled girls for competitive play and live games. Under the guidance of PG parent and lacrosse enthusiast, Emily Johnson, participants will benefit from rigorous practice, training sessions and strategic play coaching. This enrichment program provides a fantastic opportunity for young female athletes to enhance their lacrosse abilities and experience through the thrill of competitive play in a supportive and structured setting. Level 2 Speed and Power w/ FAST: Grades 5-8 Thursdays 3:15-4:30pm Grades 5-8, 3:15-4:30pm on Thursdays starting Thursday, 1/30 Join Coach Brian in this interactive second installment of Athletic SPEED and POWER. This program is designed to tap into the athletes mindset and abilities to take their game play and athleticism to the next level. This program will include exclusive equipment and drills to help the athlete identify their athletic strengths and weaknesses to correct or improve their gameplay. Coach Brian will be showing and teaching the values, skills and work ethic to make it to the professional level as well as guide the athletes on how to UNLOCK their next level of SPEED and POWER. This combination will result in more CONFIDENCE and INCREASED ATHLETIC OUTPUT to MAKE MORE PLAYS on the court, track or field. THE TIME IS NOW! |

This program is designed to prepare players for live competitive play, and is designed for those with prior lacrosse experience. Players will not only learn the fundamentals, but they will learn what it takes to be a successful team: offensive and defensive formations, proper subbing procedure's, the role of each posotion on the field, and more! ***Full pads requred. Sunday Night Football: Grades 4-7, Sundays 4:00-6:00pm Grades 4-7, 4:00-6:00pm on Sundays starting Sunday, 2/23 Our Annual Sunday Night Football 7v7 Football League will take place on Sundays at 4pm this Spring. Each session will begin the evening with a Skills & Drills camp run by PG Football players and coaches. Once they finish that portion of the camp, players will be split up into teams and they will begin league play. 7v7 is a great way to get out in the off-season and work on your skills, regardless of the position you play, 7v7 is for you. We look forward to seeing you at Sunday Night Football this Spring! We will have 6 total sessions from 4-6pm on the following dates: 2/23, 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23 and the last day/tournament on Sunday, 4/13 |
